Dancing In Your Eyes

I saw you across the room;
blonde hair tossed from the wind
and you laughed as you shook your head
casting off the remnants of the downpour outside.
You turned towards me and the lights danced
in your brown eyes
sending a thousand messages in a single glance.

A slow song played as you reached for my hand
and led me to the dance floor pulling me closer
until I felt like an extension of you.
The beating of my heart keeping tempo
to the rhythm of the music as I danced,
lost in your eyes,
while the world blurred and disappeared around us.

And tonight, a lifetime lived in only short months,
kneeling, you smile at me as in your outstretched hand
you shakingly present a diamond offering
and your breath stills while you wait
for an affirmation of our love that so openly dances,
reflected in your eyes,
then tumbles out in liquid mirrors at the simple word,
“Yes.”

What lies behind us and lies before us are small matters compaired to what lies within us.

Such a simple word... that at times can mean more than a thousand others. *sigh*

Well-rendered m'friend, romance in a whispered breath.

Ruth--Romance so perfectly danced,
rhymes with the word YES...

An extension of the love and joy you share with your special man, is so very touching to read.
You bless us with the gift of your pen these days.

Hoot, Sometimes your choice of words and the way you weave them together simply takes my breathe away...this is one of those times.

Ruth,

Glad I caught up with this one.  This was beautiful and so full of love my friend.  I wish you and Rodger the best . . . you deserve it.
