A brick path I stroll, flowers blooming in full
I inhale and begin to ponder
The sweet scent of lily, all laced like Chantilly
Toward the horizon I begin to wonder

I spy vivid hues, brilliant lavender and blues
Many tones of orange and pinks
The fire in the sky, no longer stands high
Into the ocean the sun slowly
                              s
                               i
                                n
                                 k
                                  s

Light turns to dark, stars making their mark
Fitful twinkles saying hello
Seas of emerald green, lye silent and serene
And the moon is rising s l o w

The silhouette of the trees, gently dance with the seas
The light of the silver moon glowing
White sand ‘neath my feet, warmed from days heat
Through my hair warm breeze blowing

Afar, ship lights glisten, while I pause and listen
Crickets sing to me a serenade
So perfectly composed, waves lap at my toes
As footprints behind me wash away

The scents and the sounds, and beauty that astounds
As I saunter through the night
Visions etched deep within, towards my room I begin
Where my dreams will take their flight

And the Jamaican sun will again kiss the sky

Irie,
A beautiful composition, applauding you all the way.

A very relaxing piece to read. The scent of salt sea air is just around the corner in my mind. Cheers, Tepok.

I was looking for an inspiration - and the title intrigued - I found the inspiration - and the poem dazzled! (btw- if you're in Jamaica - I'm VERY jealous!!!)

Ba-baam m'friend! Not only wonderfully spoken, immaculately presented, but a liberal internal rhyme scheme... wow. Much impressed - Definitely one of your best lady!
