In Quest Of Ancient Visions
~*Marge Tindal*~

<~~~~~~~>

White Feather embarks
Greatest journey is at hand
On wisdom-winged owl

<~~~~~>

Ancient Spirits speak
Echoes of the Vision Quest
Peace lays at my feet

<~~~~~~~>

Spirit Wolf watches
Coming true of great tellings
Lone voice cries in night

<~~~~~>

Spirit Bear joins in
Sacred circle grows with pride
Legends dance in fire

<~~~~~~~>

Majestic Eagle
Soars upon the flight of night
Sun breaks morning sky

<~~~~~>

Glowing embers left
Campfire circled gathering
Peacefully seeking

<~~~~~~~~>

White Feather soars high
crested wings of eagle smile
tradition lives on

Buffalo runs hard
dusted trail of dryness cries
searching lost lovers

Pipe of peace now set
within circle of knowledge
resting among friends

Beautiful 5-7-5's my friend....no one does them better.  I learn from only the best don't you know.

Horsewoman rides strong
seeking White Feather's strength, song
uniting two minds

Over Mother Earth
riding hard, searching for truth
White Feather holds tight

to all shall come this
strength, truth, song, love, life, light, then
The Great Father smiles

instead of sending you a haiku,
i thought i'd make you
a nice rhyme or two.
these sets of syllables seventeen
of spirits unseen are beautiful indeed.
they are very thanksgiving-esque,
and there are a couple lines that i like best:
"Lone voice cries in night"
and
"Legends dance in fire"
those simple expressions left quite the impressions
and i have thoroughly enjoyed your haiku session.

well penned. i love the vision quest theme!

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates who said, "I drank what?"

Crazy Horse showed us
Great strength of a brave bear
the day he pointed

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Crazy Horse had pointed over the horizen and said, "My home is where my people lie..."  I really admire and respect the tribes, and I shared you're poems with a bunch of friends of mine... Everyone was really impressed and asked me to pass on their thanks for the images all of the haikus brought forth.. So, from the Sioux, Lakota, and Cherokee tribe members I know...I'd like to extend a warm thankyou..      Everyone really LOVED these.. Thanks to all who wrote... Special thanks to Marge for starting this chain..
With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.
