In a perfect world, in a perfect place
I’d have touched your hand
But I’ve only saw your face

We’ve shared intimate moments
Yet never breathed the same air
I feel like I know you, does that make any sense

Separated by thousands of miles
Only a phone line ties us together
Though we have both felt the other’s smiles

One day soon I hope we finally meet
To share the same space with you
And to hold you would be oh so sweet

You yearn for love and compassion
This I have already sensed
I would like to provide to you that attention

But until that fateful day when at last we realize
The desire that has been before us
I will have to suffice with a gaze into your eyes
