In the winds of Cherokee song

0 posted 2000-10-16 09:26 AM

What Happens

What happens when my eyes can no longer see
The dancing of butterflies upon kisses of breeze
The petals of roses streching their arms around me
What happens when darkened clouds are all I sieze

What happens when our song I can no longer hear
The singing of angels across rainbows in midnights sky
The merriment of feet dancing on heavens floor of cheer
What happens when songs are left alone to whither and die

What happens to dreams left abandoned in the twilight skies
The stairs of Saturn as she spirals down her rings of love
The scented aromas of petals and flickers in steam filled cries
What happens to the visions that were born of heaven above

What happens when walks along the beach have no surging tide
The sand beneath our feet no longer melt under my poet's pen
The waves of passions cresting with all that I have wearily tried
What happens to love my friend ... what shall I do with it then

Mark Christopher

Intriguing questions, Mark. Your words brought thoughts of a spirit without a home. Entertaining formatting as well.

What happens when at the distant horizon
A smile meets the shine of the morning sun
When a poet's heart lays wide open and bare
brimming with tenderness, full with care ...

great poem, my friend, Mark...

What will then, become of me
What happens when friendship is no longer real
What will then, I be able to feel

love the poem and the graphics..very beautiful Mark..and the answer to the question what happens? Someone else will experience all those things..i guess it wouldnt be fair if always the same person  did.  thats where memories come in to play..to sooth an aching heart.

Mark my friend, this is a pearl, shining with the clarity of pure and perfect poetry.
As always I couldn't pick one single line that is my favourite. Because the whole is so totally complete. Still these lines really brought me an especial beauty

'what happens when our song I can no longer hear
The singing of angels across rainbows in midnight sky'

Oh this is such a beauty, I keep hearing that line in Romeo and Juliet, 'Like a rich jewel in an Ethiop's ear. Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!'

Mark you make this far too hard for us here in my office. How are we going to pick out the best when, you keep capping yourself with the next.

And by the way. You do know I love this one don't you, I didn't think I'd been subtle but I might have been inadvertently.
Take care
                     Marsha

What happens is to hold on to those visions, because without them, sometimes I think we would just wither and die.  A beautiful poem, nicely stated my friend.

There is so much hurt within the lines of
this...I'm indeed grateful that you can let
it out here and use it within the gift of
your poets pen and I hope that you find the
healing and the comfort within that gift as
well.  Take care of you....

Mark
What happens when we choose to follow a rainbow or hear the angels sing, rather than allowing a dark cloud to hover above? A dark cloud is only a temporary thing.
We can find treasures in choosing the blessings from above. With the stroke of a pen you bring beauty, a special gift of write you have been given my friend.

Beautifully written Mark, with such a lilting and tender sadness. You've captured such emotional and tender sentiments here, very nicely written.  I'm so un-used to reading of sorrow from your pen, so I return the offer of hugs to you my friend.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Oh Mark, what does happen, and what do we do with the dreams that go unwanted? This is magnificent writing, and the format was great as well. But your questions, ah, they are mine. Now if we can just find the answers.
