Laura
Amy M. Kennedy

sun rises as a new day begins
Rays of golden sunlight stream through
From slumber I awake and dreams end
And thoughts drift softly to you
            ~~~~~***~~~~~
eyes of emerald captured my heart
a love created under a turquoise sky
think i loved you from the start
tears of joy and sadness I now cry
            ~~~~~***~~~~~

you are like a blue sky to a gray day
and some things just are meant to be
our love is like a new try to an old way
as i wipe my tears-- i begin to see
            ~~~~~***~~~~~
as the day passes things become more clear
and my heart starts to see a burning light
my soul no longer burned as much
as it takes off in amazing flight
            ~~~~~***~~~~~

crimson red sunset lies low in the west
as horizon from sky meets the sea
And now I look up at the moon--a half formed crest
As I wait in anticipation endlessly
            ~~~~~***~~~~~
justice still hangs in the balance today
As the darkness comes and the stars appear
But still the light burns within--a single ray
And for a single moment in time--i feel you near
Amy girl...this is beautiful beyond my
words, your heart shines in each line. There
is no question of what lies in your soul
here. Gentle writing from you my friend~
This piece is excellent and very well written Aimster...your use of words and the visions you've created was very graceful.
