My heart is weary
On this autumn night
Although the body's tired
The soul is light

My eyes are bloodshot
Bet they are a sight
I am feeling shaken
Full of fear and fright

Uncertain of the future
Tried with all my might
Clouded with darkness
This is my plight

Somewhere up ahead
Shining very bright
There is a rainbow
Reaching new height

I spot it in the distance
Reveling with delight
Today at last my spirit
Suddenly takes flight

Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats

While reading, I was reminded of just how quickly things can change...I love the brightness and hope within your words.

LW~

i have always felt a connection to your work. and this is a perfect example why. you have almost penned my exact thoughts here. and much more beautifully and eloquently than i could have. loved the hope at the end...but the whole poem echoed your beautiful heart. take care my friend.

A rainbow shows us many things
It can bring much needed light to a soul
And mend the broken pieces of our heart
Until finally once again we are whole

LoneWolf~
I liked the vision of hope seen in the rainbow ending.

This is very pretty.
