The Age Of Descent

I have closed Pandora's box
No longer seek the golden fleece.
Tried to put the apple back
But it fell to dust at my feet.

I've walked the shoals of loneliness
No longer search the holy grail.
Gave up the answers from the arts
And now covert the paradox.

I am being pushed to the brink
One silver thread stays the abyss
And I have grown no wings to fly
The weight too heavy the pendulum.

My wake slows in the pour of the sand
And the silver strand is near to break.

Seymour, a stunning poem on mortality. Loved this, excellent images.

"an afixiation a fix on anything the line of life the limb of a tree
the hands of he and the promise that s/he is blessed among women".

oh SY this is so cool...
what a stunning poem of mystical images
and what blows me away even more is
how even when you dont use obvious rhyme...
your cadence rocks ...
YOU ROCK... you are poetry in motion
and by the wisdom in this jewel ...
me thinks you had wisdom rice again this morn?
or perhaps eloquence eggs?
wise pondering potatoes?
no....your just one SMART COOKIE

Hey, Sy, you're supposed to give up bad habits, not good ones! Keep looking for that fleece, my friend
