"I'll be back"

My daughter left me in command
At least that was my understand.
But naught with grandchild works that way
At least not on that feeding day.

I tried to feed her croon and spoon
Well to beginnings afternoon.
But she would not be satisfied
Until she spurred me into Hyde.

She had a strangeness all her own
Of tears and spits with gurgle tone.
If she did not agree with me
Then I would hear a gie banshee.

Time after time she'd turn her head
When food was offered to be fed.
Or she would push my hand away
Sadistically in childish play.

This would go on and on and on
Till my patience completely gone
And I would pray I hear that clack
The promise of the "I'll be back."

Don't get me wrong my loves forever
Feed her again, not likely, ever.

This is so precious.
Just hand her over here and let me feed her, please?
A keepsake poem that she will always enjoy
Thanks for the smiles

Sy, I enjoyed this one. My opinion of feeding a child is... it's a bit like making jam in a pressure cooker.

Be well

Irish,
Sometimes I feel that way.

Jhonbus,
Thank you I tried that one.

Suthern,
Thank you sweet.

Corazon,
I'll take the joys, forget about the feeding.

Grandpas are allowed to just feed sweet deserts, and watch them be slurped up...
Moms and Dads are in charge of meats and veggies...

and while we're at it...give this little one an ice cube to play with...

and a turkey's feather with some honey on her fingers...

offers a whole new gist of reportable poetry, don't you think?

{~,^} have fun Sy...they are treasured treasures...

LOL - Loved the light hearted ending to this one, Sy.  Your poetry, as always, flows graciously yet evokes emotion in me - wonderfully done.
