        “THE FIRE IN YOUR EYES”

Eyes that you own, so very mysterious to me,
I hear them speak and whisper,
             so amorously…
The softest yet piercing of blue, that they are,
but they can be on fire,
and shine like a pulsating star…

When I hold you close, they do indeed change,
      from a most gentle softness,
             to ones of blue flame…
I stare at them, as you return in kind,
      and your eyes,
             they play with my mind…

Mischievously seducing my thoughts, and I don’t know,
how I would ever stay away from you,
             after seeing their afterglow…
They mesmerize me, when you stare into my mind,
      I forget who I am,
perhaps you have rendered me blind…

My lips to your ear, and fire they become,
      dancing with life,
             and very adventuresome…
Again they stare at mine, so hauntingly lovely,
      reaching into my soul,
             enticing me absolutely…

They burn like the sun, but so captivated am I,
      you stare right through me,
with a look that seems to amplify…
My senses are none, into your spell I become,
      when enraptured by you,
             it is so very awesome…

Both pairs are blue, but yours are so divine,
and when staring into each other’s soul,
they have a tendency to combine…
A tantalizing moment has occurred, and I would never deny,
that I have gazed and seen,
             “The Fire In Your Eyes”…

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the welcome back. I had to take some time off for awhile, but want to come back slowly. And I am penning, as it is my first love.

Hi inot2B,
I like your name, catchy. Thanks for the kindness of your comments. And thanks for coming by for a read.

Hello Victoria,
Thank you very much for your generous comments. I find it difficult to come up with titles, and I hope this one suits the writing. Thanks again.

Wonderful  verse! There is something hypnotic about the eyes, especially when they have that fire in them.

Bill, impassioned and soulful writing...the language of the eyes, perhaps at times outshines the most ardent communication.

Bill, it's such a treat to read a poem of your's...
The gentleness in your words of rhyme tend to sweep a reader (well this one anyways) off their tippitoes...

Bill,

You are a Poet of Passion!...hummmm....Now, there's a title for your next poem...

Thank you for taking the time in writing something so powerful for me as you did with "The Fire in your Eyes"..It's a pleasure to finally see your work first hand and again on the NetPoet.COM...I plan on sending this to a special person with whom I've seen my true reflection of my passion for him.  I also want to thank you for giving me "Wanting to know You".  Will you be posting that soon?...Please do..Here's a piece I really liked!

Might you be single, married,or I don't know    what,
it doesn't matter to me,for you have captured my heart...

Give me one sign, but look not and say no,
   but you don't say anything,
   so please let me know...

Sincerely,
Caught Smiling
