Melting Purple
~*Marge Tindal*~

Marinating magenta
velvet pink colors blend on high
Sunset waltzes home
across a melting purple sky

Twilight beckons the clouds to rest
Lilac hues in lacy serenade
tiptoe to the edge of night
in lavender parade

One final curtain call
flourishes with crimson gold
Across the stage of an indigo night
one more day has tolled

I must learn the shades between these primary and secondary colors  - all 256 hues - and pass them onto you - I can only begin to imagine what you'd do ~S~ This is very lovely Marge - I can 'see' it vividly.

Very nice use of visuals.  I like the simple structure.  I think that it fits the poem well.

Victoria~
When the sunset paints the sky -
all of the colors are my favorites too.

Wilfred~
I pick the colors from the palette of the sunset -
never the same -
I wonder how many colors remain ?
Thank you for the generous offer.

RoJo~
Glad you enjoyed it.

DarkAngel~
This one just fit the sunset.

Vicky~
I think I could honestly write one each evening -
as the sky paints it ever-changing.
Thanks, friend.

you always have such lovely imagery, and the colors of this are wonderful accents. i like the third lines of the first and second stanzas, but the last stanza was my fav. a beautiful theatre allusion

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "I drank what?"
