blue feather found ...

blue feather found
in a snappy cracked spine
tucked tight in a book
of rhythms and rhymes

marking its place
for 70-odd years
disturbed in its sleep
awakening blue fears

impressions left
for others told
when taken away
from pages it holds

of missing its time
to remind the forgot
of where it left off
with nary a thought

still it rests
awaiting the queue
for rise again readers
to pick up anew

i think it will stay
among pages fast
'til my readings do catch
blue feather at last

and to think I've just re-found this little treasure...

I love the feel of old books...

and I'm glad you found the inspiration to write this...

MAMiller~
What a treasure you've found.
Not only the volume of poetry set ...
but surely the blue feather.

Fascinating.
