POETIC DISCLAIMER: poetic endeavor on the subject only....lol...no I am not "unbookmarking" passions   you guys mean to much to me

today i unbookmarked your name

after there was a we that i not only loved
i needed more than you will ever know and
then when you just sorta stopped coming
around, no explanations forth coming  and
you were just gone just too busy just didn't care
anymore and i still don't know for sure why (of course
I have my suspicions, just so you know) but
i used to miss you, too much for my own good yes i know,
so i skipped across the webs, careful not to get entangled, again,
glimpsing here there and everywhere you might be
not caring what i found or that the night would see me cry
but today, i stand tall, today will be different
cyberville is not like real life, i don't have to, like say
drive your street cause its on the way to work
i don't have to shop where you shop
cause its the only place in town
i just don't have to
go
there
anymore
so today i unbookmarked your name
i didn't stop there cause I know its not that easy
but i have to say, it felt good just the same
i unbookmarked your page, your profile
and all the places together we used to go
'we' are all gone now, no traces left
and you know what? relief flooded through
when i finally pressed to empty the recycle bin
i mean its not like we are real
people with real names,
nicknames don't bleed and cry
right?
oh wait
oh no
what's this?
i forgot about your pics
ok, no big deal I can handle this too
they are not real, just images that live on disk and on my heart...
no wait i meant my hard drive, yes, hard drive, that was what i was saying,
no they are not real souls, bytes of memories only,
but now i fret and i stew, a quandry i think its called
what am i supposed to do with these
kodak moments from a past reality
I just can't make myself
recycle
your smile

Oh........I can't tell you how timely this one is to me!!!!!!  Wow...you must be hiding in my closet, or something! This is wonderful, and easy to relate to...for me!!
I liked: "I skipped across the webs, careful not to get entangled, again..."  Well....all I can say is "Here's to Unbookmarking!!!"

jinxed, I really like this, it's open and honest. Very well written too, and one day you may be able to glance at the smile with barely a quiver of pain. Until then take care
                   Marsha

Unless of course this is a fiction and then it's just because it's so good that I think it's real.

This is absolutely stunning! So many wonderful phrases weaving an incredible tapestry... But my tears prove nicknames DO bleed and cry... this poem moved me deeply. *S*

I can relate on this too, describe it so wonderful. unbookmarked done with a click,
but feelings aren't easy to turn of,
take care, and you write it very well.

Ha..ha...interesting and so much truth...I have a picture of a net friend still on my wall..we have never met face to face...she was a source of strength to me during some very trying times...we emailed for about 9 months very faithfully and suddenly it was over...but I'll never forget how she was their for me...a precious woman...I could take it down if I chose but I feel comfort and strength when I look at her picture and remember her concern and her sharing...James

jm, yes I agree, a pic can make a 'nick' into a real person, it sort of link across the miles and it makes them more "real"...also harder to just delete out of your life...sigh.....thanks for the reply

it's a very accurate way of expressing these feelings, I can relate. I try to stay away from these kind of relationships. It's not really healthy....but that's my opinion. Thanks for the thought your poem brought from me about this subject.

You handled the topic excellently, jinxed. Pictures, though, serve to remind that there are real people behind those words, people with all the strengths, weaknesses and humanity that comprise us all. Pictures of those who meant much? Undeletable......

That was a great poem, it communicated how you feel very well i thought...I know how you feel here, almost the very same thing happened to me... almost four years ago now.
We used to talk every day, and then she suddenly disappeared.

jinxed this was a very heartwarming poem, just as in real life we make friends also through the internet, I guess just as in real life it it's not meant to be then they just disappear, but sometimes we value one another and can share our view and feelings and actually make a true friend that's what I love about this passions forum we may not know each other but somehow we connect with our poetry and know a little bit sometimes the little things are very important, you wrote this poem with so much feeling and openess I loved it great work here.
