Cradle me in your warm embrace
Let all our cares and worries just fade away
Lets let tomorrow fend for itself
For now we have today.

Today is for lovers, dreamers, and fools
We may be all three who knows
But right now all I need is you
And who cares how tomorrow goes.

So hold me close right next to your heart
Let me feel your rising passion
We may not have tomorrows dreams
But we have today to wish on.

And when the sun sets on this today
And we give in to the need to sleep
It wont be tomorrow when we wake
It will be one more today to keep.

And so we go one today at a time
We dont need to look ahead
No one knows what tomorrow may bring
So lets love for today instead.

Beautiful work Paula...letting tomorrow take
care of itself and just living in the moment
of the here and now allows us a memory to
look back on with fondness rather than
regret.  Excellent writing~

Sun- You have captured, and very well, the day to day feeling of romance in it's most raw state.
The last line is a fabulous closing phrase.

Sun = Hun, heh, my apologies...  (how ironic, you were the one that instructed me to not be apologetic for mistakes and typos)

"For now we have today"  so true that we need to embrace and enjoy the moment...I savor each moment I spend with Mina and I tell her and sometimes she tells me to cool down but I want her to understand when we are apart that I appreciate every minute we spend together...James

Awesome Paula - this is wonderfully portrayed - longing and hope. *sigh*

Paula, this is a wonderful poem, and a very good piece of advice. So hard when even today is snatched away, though. I wish you happiness.
