The Poets Joust

It was a joust of renown throughout the land
With the greatest of prize, fair maiden's hand

Fanfare erupts, and the crowd they cheer
As two brave knights, they do appear

With hearts on sleeve they take their stage
They're face to face across the page

Through sharpened quills the ink flows free
Sweet words of love they penned with glee

Spoke of moonbeams, and stars, and candlelight
With such eloquent words 'twas an amazing sight

Through words of sweet memories and forbidden love
They failed to see the flight of that precious dove

And they battled with such poetic might
The contest it raged late into the night

While they fought for a love which wasn't theirs
Fair maiden took flight, left behind her cares

With her trusty page she rode into the night
For he was her true love, HER brave knight

Excellent!

Reminds me of the "Poet's Joust" we had back in Open #8. . . we had fun with it, but there were some who reminded us of these very same words. . .

Very good. . .

Eagle One

Marge is joust a little poet
Lancing in the knight
Armor with a poet pen
She’ll run you out of sight
She weilds her weapon like a sword
The best ones she can oust
She’s joust a lovely little poet
You simply can’t outjoust

Sounds like you had a great knight
loved the poem

Wonderful EagleOne ... I loved the smooth flow in this. Thanks for the smiles ... it's amazing how quickly a maiden can disappear when the joust itself, takes presidence over "her" LOL, great read!

Best wishes,
/Kit
