Curls
sand-coloured
bounced upon your
youthful shoulders
with dimples that
smiled a thousand
smiles
you were not
my friend then, not
really

though I did notice a
young boy trying to blend
into what must have
seemed like towers of
long legged snotty
juveniles

you were there
somewhere
frolicking loudly about but,
not heard

quite often these days
with those same
smiling dimples,
minus the curls
I see you, hear you
cheerfully calling my name
towering over me

20 years
around that corner
we are friends now
I am ever so thankful
to know you,
finally

Dark Angel, you succeeded in painting a picture in my mind, unfolding with great ease. Enjoyable reading.

You got me snickerin there! hehe

You know this brings back a memory of mine.
A girl who wanted to fight me in Jr. High, and in H.S. ended up being in one of my classes, and we became good friends.

Strange how things like that happen, she has since passed on, but she certainly left a footprint on my heart.    Great writing angel girl!

~I need to get in here and read you more often. I love the way your words speak themselves softly...the tone you set and the overall style in which you write. Enjoyed this. Take care now. *Peace.
