Cradled amongst the vines
Feet deep in the moving soil
Before the summer rain
The sun filters in further
Life! It appears lesser

In memories of long ago
Rains never ceased
Rivers, so fresh, streams so swift
Life! Was everywhere, never adrift

Vines will soon be no more
Strength is now getting weak
For there is nothing left
No river, no mountain
No more rain
Trees! Were! Grew! Died!

serenity*
How very true you can sense the same thing I do. Imagine the many forest people who saw the gradual rape of their ancestral land.
Such a tragedy of modernisation.
