How was your day?

Each night you ask me “How was your day?”
I reply with answers you want me to say
I woke this morning switched on the Television
And saw 200 people had been killed for religion

I walked through town, saw people without homes,
And others’ in suits talking on their mobile phones
Some people must beg in order to survive
Yet you, me & others we take for granted, our lives

The things I see sicken me inside
Yet there’s nothing I can do, but get on with my life
These thousands of people they starve whilst outdoors
And you ask me how my day was?
“It was fine, how was yours?”

Steve-Very poignant.  It is so easy for us sometimes to forget about others less fortunate than ourselves, thank you for reminding me.

Steve.
Good poem. Isn't it amazing how much those three little words "It was fine" can say.
Be well

                homeless and hungry
in need of a helping hand
                the people pass by
            sorry, didn't see you there
sorry, don't have time to care

Steve-
wow...such truth in this.  Too often we
go about our business, and block out those
who need our help; and then we go home
and say our day was just fine.  This
really touches a chord with me.  Thanks
   for sharing this.
