Weakening

Each morning awakening to anticipation
_slowly rising to see a bright morn.
Yet in creeps the pain, once again, breaking spirit
_thoughts course my veins, I am feeling forlorn.

I travel my days accomplishments, hardly
_weakness has taken it's toll, I am drained.
Needing the comfort of friends who stand by me
_to cleanse away hurt, and dilute the tears rained.

Resting belies, the dreams of a future
_secure that my love would forever be shared.
Nightmares attack in the mind, moments pictured
_residue left, just the heartache I've bared.

By afternoon, feeding, sustenance calling
_digesting the words and wonder of "you".
Wishing to savor the thoughts screened before me
_to take to a land, where I "dreamrest" a few.

Once again waking to calls of desire
_hoping a touch, I will feel to alift.
Energy pierces, though only a moment
_But enough, to nourish these hands with word gift.

I lay them before you, perusing the passions
_apologize now for the lack of reply.
Intentions are wanting, but body is wavering
_awaiting the day when my strength is near high.

This was well done Maureen, and here is hoping that you will feel the strength returning soon.
