I was just a little girl
Barely turning seven
You said you had a gift for me
A trail way straight to heaven

You grabbed me by the hand
Said, "Come on, lets go play"
Took me to the barn
And threw me in the hay

The trail way led to terror
A place full of tears and pain
You said, "Stop your crying"
And "It won't hurt again"

Then when I tried to tell people
What you put me through
They turned and shook their heads
Said it wasn't something you would do

So silently I suffered
As the months kept passing by
My size kept getting bigger
And at school I learned to fight

The fateful day finally came
When you tried to corner me
I shoved you back against the wall
And hit you with my knee

Storm clouds were gathering
When the power all went out
The lightening flashed brightly
When you struck me in the mouth

I struck out one more time
Then ran out to the rain
Straight through the pastures
When I heard you scream my name

The lighting was flashing brighter
The thunder booming loud
Above the wind and rain
I heard a scary sound

Slipping in the wet grass
I tried to get quickly to my feet
The hooves were pounding harder
Realized I was stuck in a stampede

I had the choice to stay or run
When I saw you looking for me
With the pounding hooves all around
I decided in the rain to flee

I ran for my life that night
Using the horses for cover
And drowning out my sobs
Was the loud sounding thunder

I have a deep respect for lightening
Whenever a storm passes by
But the thunder still scares me
Throws me back into that night

All my friends think I'm crazy
When I flinch at the sound
But you had murder in your eyes
And help was no-where around

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

Now this one roars with pain and I do hope that this is not a true to life for you.  The fear and the pain are so vivid and you have painted it all too well.  I commend you on that and if it is true to life for you I will be shedding tears for you and sending hugs and prayers your way as well.

Dear Broken-Winged-Angel,

Thank you for reposting this.  I think the only solice is knowing that these people will have to face their judgment day.

You truly are an angel, hoping now to mend broken wing.

Mark,
Unfortunately, yes...it's real life.  All of my poems are based on what's happened to me...*ponders*  Well, that is most of them.  I write what I feel and know, and if it makes other people feel, then it's good.  If it doesn't, then I didn't write good enough.  Thankyou for your comments.

Corinne,
Yes, that is the only solice I've been able to find.  Thankyou for your response.

*bows*
This is certainly a poem that I shall never forget...  And the loud thunder I hear screaming outside my window this very second, adds to the entire atmosphere.
You are a brave soul, not only to have experienced these horrific events, but to actually have the courage to share them with others so openly.
Another note I'd like to add on this poem, is that the words and lines run together VERY smoothly, and is, with a disreguard to it's meaning, is a delight to read.

angel~
very vivid indeed, I could feel every emotion in this and the pain and sorrow.
What horror...I can't begin to imagine what you must have went through, I only hope you are getting through it and can live today with some normality even though it must be hard.
I was touched deeply by this

Natelan,
Thankyou.  I was kinda wondering if it was smooth or not...You're the first to remark on it..

Tracie,
More or less I am.. Thankyou for your concern and remarks on the poem.

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

don't know what to say, I was there too,
recognize the feelings that no one believes you.....
I was there too, and I was younger than you,
abused for many years, surround with people, but alone with the truth,
maybe I will share the poems that I wrote about that time,

thanks for sharing yours,
(((hugs))

Charisma,
I'm sorry that you went there too
The pain and fear only you knew
At that time was not right at all
Trust me, someday he/she will fall
Judgement comes but once a life
They'll pay then for all the strife
Caused to others like you and me
More and more people are beginning to see
When a child reaches out for help
More people are there to make it well.

*grimace*  Sorry, I'm tired...and that doesn't sound quite right..but there ya go..    Thankyou for your response.

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

This was written perfectly. I could feel your pain and confusion. I am sorry no one would believe you. My heart goes out to you and all others who have been faced with the same story. May there be a special place in HELL for all who have put an innocent child
thru this.

I know the pain and fear,
and I am glad that more people start to believe the childeren from today.
and believe me, the one who did this to me, well people adored him.....till his last breathe.

thanks for your cheering words, I can deal with it now,(big mouth said so).
but I think that you know, what I mean.

btw. I came several times here, to read your poem, so many feelings came up....tried to reply...but couldn't earlier, cause my emotions were to heavy.
