There will be a time
When I'll stand up
And bring myself
To the place
To climb the fence
Just to walk alongside the wall
That keeps me
From gazing into those eyes.
Someday,
I'll find the strength
To scrutinize the barrier.
Until then,
I will most likely
Sit back and watch
Everyone else climb the fence
To knock on the door.
I won't knock;
I won't enter through the door!
I'll make it crumble to the ground.
I refuse to go around it;
I'll never accept excuses.
One of these days,
I will gather my courage
To meet you where you are.
I won't settle for less;
You know I'll not let it be.
I'll get to the foundation
Of this obstacle
And destroy it.
My Friend,
I'll see you there
Someday.

Wow....power of conviction at it's best looming on the horizon.  Really loved to read the positiveness in your words and the sureness of beating down those obstacles standing in your path.  Oh and by the way.......GO!!!!!!

Ah, yes, you are correct.  But, I do believe that my only use for that color will be for my sympathy poem.  You know, so you don't feel quite as badly.  LOL

Life is a series of 'walls,' as cliche as that might sound, but as long as you have the strength and courage to get past them; whether you must climb over, dig beneath, walk around or just pile right through it, you're guarenteed to live a long, and hopefully, happy life...
This poem really made me think about the hurdles and pitfalls in my OWN life, and I want to thank you for offering me these wonderfully written words of faith, as I believe they will carry on in my soul for eternity.

(sorry, all, for acknowledging your responses so late as I have been away for a few days!)

natelan:  thank you, my friend, for your extremely kind words!  I am so glad they could be of inspiration to you!

tracie66:  thanks for reading!  glad you enjoyed!!

Mark:  what can I say, except, 2 games to 1?  And, elimination in two more?  I think that says it all, don't you??

Snowpants, honey, this is wonderful! This poem strikes such personal a chord with me. I love what you have done with the metaphor... this could have been written in so many different ways, and I am terribly pleased you did it in this manner. More than just and enjoyable read, I'll be looking for more of yours.
