Falling Into Night

As  twilight looms
this brisk fall day,
the sun begins descent.
Watching from the window seat
I think, I dwell, lament...

Leaves are breaking
from the hold
of branches that release,
allowing twisting, floating of
a life to lay in peace.

Scattered colors,
shades of bright
golden reds and browns
piled upon each other,
resting softly on the ground.

And up above
the indigo
replaces sunsets view,
to watch the stars begin their shine
my thoughts, I turn to you.

Phasing in and out,
the moon
behind a midnight cloud
of mystery, of endless love,
eyes tear, as heart beats loud.

Falls' howling winds
will carry cries,
desires born in flight,
traveling swiftly to your side
for comforts needs, tonight.

Walking hallways
in shadow's path,
I take you to my bed,
slipping into warmth of thought
beneath moon's quilted spread.

It's glow has always
touched my soul
to shine upon me light,
and aid me in my dreams of hope,
as day turns into night.

Oh Maureen you had me from the very beginning with this one. The images I was able to see were so beautiful. Thank you so much for the gift of this.

Maureen, from the title to the conclusion you've graced us with the touch of luna  magic. Very much enjoyed.
