I don't know who the muse is
Who pumps creative juices
Through all the capillaries of my soul.

But figuratively speaking,
I'm afraid I must be leaking
And those juices must be running out  some hole.

When I dutifully sit down
To get some verses writ down--
No epic, just a simple rhyme or two--

Though I burn the midnight taper,
All I've got is empty paper
And half a pencil that I didn't chew.

Oh, I know this feeling all too well!  All those images swimming around in the brain, but not a word to describe them.  Great poem!  I enjoyed it!!
