Walking through my home
Late I at night
My eye’s still groggy from sleep
Sounds of cars
Passing by my window
Like a drum with a steady beat

Into the kitchen
To wash my hands
And to dry them on my shirt
Back to bed
With dismal cravings
Of my pillow on which to flirt

I dream the dreams
Like many people
Of finding my one true love
On a sandy beach
A wayward town
Or in the stars above

I search her out
To all four corners
The earth is at my feet
I know she’s out there
Waiting for me
Our smiles are meant to meet

I will continue to dream
Like always before
Of our love that is meant to be
But until then
I must wait
Until she dreams of me

Better to die, and sleep
The never-waking sleep, than linger on
And dare to live when the souls life is gone.

to tell you that I love it, isn't true...
its more than that, but can not find the right words.
it also made me smile, because its so true.
great work, really enjoyed it

Thanks, but for some reason I'm still unhappy with it.

Not to neglect your poem, but first of all _great_ picture. This is so sweet... reminds me of the lines:

"I've faith that there's a soul somewhere
that's leading me around.
I wonder if she knows which way is down."

from Evaporated

I like the transition... your begining of groggy late night stumbling into the conquest of dreams and soul searching; very nice.
Oh, and Good luck on your quest   !

Thanks. My quest though is finally over.

Wonderful Trevor! You've painted a great visual for the reader here, and to cozy back up to dream ... is the perfect conclusion. Nicely penned!

Best wishes,
/Kit
