To Know Me Sonnet I love the simple honesty in you The unpretentious nature of your style It shows in everything you say and do In earnest words and in the your candid smile You bring out all the best that life can give The joys and splendors captured in your eye Then pour them though the finest silken sieve And place them ,oh so gently, by my side Tonight your face will glow as surely as Anticipated twinkling of a star For in your openness I think I have Come to know the man you really are My wish is you endeavor endlessly To know the woman that’s inside of me Elizabeth Santos |
