first i apologize to you guys about the length and second for the rambling. i just have had a lot of feelings regarding my kid sis. linda and i have always been close. but lately she's made some choices that have made her life hard. even though our relationship is complex, i love her very much!
thanks for bearing with me.

Dear Sister
Amy M. Kennedy
-dedicated to linda-

you and i grew up in the same house
we started out close then drited apart
not a day goes by that i don't think of you
no matter what has happened
you're still such a huge part of my heart

now we're grown up and things have changed
but my love for you has not
i don't think you realize how special you are
or how much love in your life you have got

i watch from afar as you go through life
you are so full of pride, you are always right
but i also know how wonderful a person you are
and how hard you truly do fight

linda my dear sister
how many times do you and i gotta try
you pull me close to push me back
and then as you walk away, i see you cry

but you say no we're fine amy
we're just growing apart and growing up
but i don't want to grow apart
i want you forever close to my heart

remember when we were little
and how easy things were back then
why can't we just somehow
make it like that again

i watch from afar and the struggle you have
you and dad are now having a hard time
but i watch the strength you possess
and how hard you try...time after time

but you never quite make it
and i know you have dreams even if you don't
why is it you always settle
and sell yourself short

i wish you could see in yourself
what i see in you
i wish i could put into words
and that you knew

so today i will tell you like i have before
you are special and full of love
just pray linda, open your heart
and speak to the Lord above

happy 21st bday linda.

Amy this is very dear....I hope she likes it as I'm sure everyone here will.  I pray that she will open her heart...cuz sisters should be the best friends you'll ever have in life!!  Take Care, Bridgette

Very heartfelt, Amy!  I really like it!  And I hope your sister liked it, too!  Great expression of love!

Aimster~
This is so tender and beautiful, show your sister this because it expresses your feelings well and you can tell it is coming straight from your heart.
My sister and I are nearly 9 years apart and we where not that close growing up beacause of the age difference but now that we are older, married and have children we are as close as we could ever hope to be and it is fantastic...so there is always time to be close it's just a matter of time and maybe growing as adults.
HUGS to you hon

Our relationships definitely go through changes as we grow older. I remember similar growing pains with my sisters and brother....things will all work out and you will one day be closer than you even were when you were kids. You can't not be with the kind of love that you have!

Change is what people make of it. I hope that you and your sister will always be close. Oh, and happy birthday to Linda.
