A Walk in the Gray

I've tried to love but failed,
in my eyes, I only see gray.
The clouds are now rolling in
reaching dewpoint, the rains come my way.

I've tried to love but failed,
something inside me has died.
The quiet before a new storm,
has numbed me to all that I've tried.

Is it useless to want what's forbidden?
If a bite of it I should take,
will I suffer the fears, I have hidden
or  share in a love, what's at stake?

I've tried to love but failed,
to see further than day by day.
It's cost has burdened my soul,
needing more than a walk in the gray.

So very sad, I have felt like that, not knowing what to do. A great poem and I enjoyed reading this.

M~ Richly poetic words of pain and fear.

reaching dewpoint the rains come my way...

Tears near to falling I hear here, and I know all to well this feeling shared by many.

You've expressed such sorrow amongst these lines, yet with such beauty Maureen. I hope the colours in your world will begin to shine radiantly to lift your spirits and light the way in answer to these tender questions. Very well written!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Black & White - turns to technicolor - Rainbows are still real - when your heart is ready - you'll recall these words
and you'll always be a poet.~S~
