The End of the Dock

Oh, cry of loon from misted lake
Are you the voice of distant kisses?
Do you guard the souls of memories past?
Across the curtain, imprisoning the living

This candle is my star and guide
As shadows flicker in thickened night
You out there, my love, my dream
Your soul it lives beyond the curtain

Oh silent moon I beckon thee
Do light with partial crest this night
I've cradled candle to this dock,
To call forth spirit from darkened life

The loon, the loon your cry is sweet
Oh love you've come to me in song
Beyond the shadows of flickering night
Lets dance by candle till the rising dawn

Oh darkest curtain one final call
This dock and stage our dance floor ball
I need a gift, my love, my life this once
Before the longest walk to weary lonely life

Oh Loon, Oh Loon your voice it weeps
And you fade into the lapping waves
Goodbye my love, return to restful sleep
We'll dance by cresting moon again tonight…

Just come to me I wait, at the end of the dock.

NOW this is what I am talking about when I say your talent is so amazing.  The tenderness and the hope in this is so real and touching that one could not help but be drawn into it.  I applaud you sir and now render you full honors of "COWBOY" heart and soul.  You have earned it.

Crazy as a loon on placid lake tonight
nery a ripple stirs obsidian glass
ferrying tiny stars, glitter and glow
dancing in and out of blackness.

Listen, hush, to the lonely sounds
of evening as it turns to mourn
bemoaning the beginning of the end
with all that daylight does scorn.

Lost lovers caught in an endless twirl
until morning comes to cause them to unfurl.

Well Mark, thank you now I just have to rope me in a nice tender calf.

Janet, the dock is sanded not too many splinters...

Charisma, thank you for that.

Corinne, yeah I just hate that unfurling part, better just stuck in the twirl.
