The seasons begin to change
As we enter a colder range
Temperatures start to fall
Winds turn into a squall

The trees slowly turn
Their leaves will burn
From a deep green
To the brightest orange I've seen

Some will become red
Or a fiery yellow instead
Before they all get blown
To distant places unknown

They'll be replaced in the spring
As the birds return to sing
A beautiful new melodic song
That will last all season long

This is really nice.  I enjoyed

oooo...what a very pretty poem!
i like the burning metaphor...the levels! i love the levels! it works on so many!
and it's very hopeful at the end.
lovely indeed. great stuff.

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "I drank what?"

Thank you to you all for reading and replying.  I just write them as I see them.  I love the fall and thought a poem would be an excellent way to share the beauty of it with you.  Thanks again!!
