As the Roses Bloom Today
~~~
Stepping  through  the  garden
of  our  fondest  memories
my  fingers
resting  lightly  at  your  waist
Our  thoughts  together  mingle
at  each  bloom
we  stop  to  linger
for  not  one  single  flower
could  be  replaced
~
A  basket  at  my  side
carries  blooms
displayed  with  pride
a  history  grown  to  each  we  know  and  share
Destination
to  a  Bride
one  new  memory  shall  reside
as  our  tears  of  joy  and  blessings
fill  the  air
~
A  gentle  woman  shan't  be  with  us
yet  her  love  is  here  to  bless  us
with  a  rose  so  red
it  glows  the  brightest  ever
Reaching  out  with  tender  care
a  rose  from  Grandma  will  be  there
a  gift  from  heaven
starts  a  tear
we  share  together
~
With  all  the  flowers  there  today
quite  a  fragrance  they'll  display
this  rose  shall  bless  the  Bride  and  Groom  forever
From  our  garden
from  our  mom
the  sweetest  bloom  to  catch  the  sun
We  remember
as  your  roses  bloom  today
~~~

Oh Rex, this is so incredibly sweet and tender. Such beautiful remembrances held within a garden ... what a lovely way to gift such wonderful memories to another, making her heart a part of the current day celebrations. Beautifully composed!

Best wishes,
/Kit

PS ... love the new picture! I still think I could have picked you out of the crowd at Delaware if we'd bumped into each other!

I like the way you picked out each memory and matched it with each bloom

Sometimes you have to let go and move on,
But never let go of the memories.

Rex this is exquisitely tender! I love the imagery, the comparasion, and of course the beautiful graphic. It just brought it together in one awesome package.

What a beautiful piece!  I mean that.  I love roses and you used them beautifully in this poem.

Great poem.

Rex,

This was wonderful!!  What a nice remembrance of your grandmother.  Like a yearly reminder of her love.  I really like this one.

Thanks everyone ... I was quite surprised to see so many replies to this tonight when I got home ... I sincerely thankyou all for your kind words ... and the pic ... although more up to date ... is poor quality ... I actually don't look that good
