--- So Much I Could Say ---

Should I thank you for fighting me
And tearing my confidence away from me,
To hold it and keep it safe, until I knew
How valuable it was. How valuable I was.

Or should I curse you for taking me
To such a high place, though you knew
My fear, knew that I had fallen so far,
So many times. Knew how much that fall hurts.

Or should I console you and tell you that
It's okay, that I forgive you for letting me fall.
That I know you couldn't have meant to hurt me so,
That you could never have known how fragile I really was.

Or should I just speak to the others that may
Come. Tell them to go. To save the effort.
That a standard has been set that is as unreachable
As the desert horizon on an Arizona summer night.

Perhaps I'll just keep all of that inside.
Keep emotions where they belong, safely locked away.
And simply swallow hard, choke back a few more tears
And say one more goodbye. Goodbye my love, goodbye.

Don't keep the hurt inside
Your pain must not be denied

Your pain is felt sincerely.  Never give up though!!  Sometimes we just chose the wrong mate.  Great writing!

Don't ever let yourself give up, when you feel down and it's because of someone else, just think 'there was little I could do about it - F*** em' .
Never let life get the better of you, Your a great poet and I realy enjoyed reading this one .

Touching...absolutely do all of the above...and let your heart cry and let your heart prepare itself to try again under better circumstances...James

Doesn't it feel good to get it out?

Thank you all for the kind words. The poem was real, the emotion was real but the time was long ago...... I am much better now

This is so sad, I've been there before.
It's well writen too

Sometimes you have to let go and move on,
But never let go of the memories.

There was no doubt that the emotions were
real...the sheer force of them on the page
told the story. Extremely well written and
I'm very happy to know you've moved past
this point~
