I have no woman's eye to view,
the world the way it looks to you.
I have not the lady's heart to feel,
our life and love the way you will.
I have no philiosopher's mind to know,
the complexities of life if you should go.

I have merely this haunted shell,
this empty vessel of masculine hell.
I have nothing save this foolish pride,
which leaves me scorched and black inside.
I have only thirst unquenched and aching want,
in labrynthian heart and self-loathing's haunt.

I have no life nor love nor care,
if I have not you to guide me there.
I have nothing,
without you.

Yesterday is ash, tomorrow is smoke; only today does the fire burn.

Wow! Powerfully written JP! The level of emotions drawn out in the piece are deeply touching. Your comparisons used show the stark contrast in perceptions ... you've described them so vividly. Really well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

JP, I am a woman who works in a typically masculine field...being masculine doesn't mean that you can't see things or feel things. It's all up to you...and the way you've written this poem, you're well on the way to understanding.

Okay...back again...grin...
and I'll go out on the proverbial "limb" just to say, this is sweet, and yes, DAMMIT,
SENSITIVE....sounds like you have a full appreciation for what you have--and obviously, you are practicing what you preach.  Bravo, JP.

Oh, but you are so blessed, because an empty shell has all of the room in the world for beauty and love.  Many don't.

You may think you have nothing sometimes. But you always have your family's love, your talent and your friends here. This is another gem from you!

JP this was a sensitive piece here.

These are words any women would want to hear JP.

I have no life nor love nor care,
if I have not you to guide me there.
I have nothing,
without you.

Hehehehe, I guess all women do want to hear those words... made the mistake of reciting this poem on my wife's voicemail, all her coworkers heard it and now they all want a peice...

Oh, the trials we perfect men have to go through sometimes....

JP~
When you give of yourself in sincerity -
you have need of nothing more.

When you love someone the heart lives and breathes for that someone.
We can have hope for tomorrow no matter what it holds, if we choose too.
Good write from the heart.
