Listening to every heart

I Didn’t Mean To

I didn’t mean to touch your heart
or to make you weep and cry
I really wanted you to soar
and perhaps pronounce a sigh

all I wanted was to give
a chance for you to yet again live
and breath and taste and touch and smell
didn’t mean to wrap you in this spell

didn’t mean to make you groan
and belie the fact that you’re alone
only wanted you to see the best of things
right there in your own wedding ring

but now you say there’s been cast a light
and the shadows have disappeared in bright
as the words you’ve read created a spark
and there are no memories there in the dark

how can I then impart
that I didn’t mean to touch your heart?

Positively fabulous!

Wow.....new favorite!!!!!  Jumping up and down....arms flaying....this one is superb and though you always pen beauties...this one hits 15 on the 1 to 10 scale.  Talk about reaching deep.  New shelf for the addition of the new wing in my library.

Wow Karilea ... excellent writing. You've cast a spell through your wonderful words ... and sounds like you've lit a fire in the process! Great writing, loved this!

Ok - I read the poem - (loved it of course) and read the replies - Of course it may be that this is a piece of total fiction - and perhaps others know what's going on in your life - and so no one talks about the underlying message - if not fiction - are you spellbound?
