Piece of Heaven
Amy M. Kennedy

I roll over to look at you sofly sleeping  ...as I gaze upon your face
Soft moonlight is streaming through the window...  as time is suspended in place
The ticking of the clock says its late...  but I can't take my eyes off of you
I listen to the soft sounds of your breathing...  and at a love that is so true

Looking up at the soft pale moonlight...  some far away stars catch my glance
Twinking from high above...  I softly sigh thanking God for allowing me this chance
You stir softly and whisper something in the night...  but I can't make it out
The love overflows my heart...  you are my soulmate, that there is no doubt

Night turns into morning...  as the moon slowy fades away
And the promise of a new beginning...  opens up with a new day
Sometime in the night...  I must have drifted to sleep
Reaching out to find you not there...  I almost begin to weep

Twas just a dream I had  ...convinced myself you were really here
Can't stop the hurt in my heart...  as I start to cry tear after tear
Why can't we be together... why does it have to be this way
It's so apparent we love each other....  why for other peoples sins must we pay

I don't know what to do anymore...  I don't know what to say
I just keeping holding on tight...  waiting for the day you'll come to stay
The bright sun is now rising...  morning has come
It's time for me to dry my eyes...  for a new day has begun

Perhaps today will be the day...  when all my dreams will come true
And standing on my porch...  will be the beauty of you
I thank God everyday for giving me you...  you have brough a piece of heaven to me
Holding onto our memories and our future  ...this I will do for all eternity

That was absolutely beautiful!  Even though I quoted my favorite part, I loved the entire poem!  I am definitely saving this!!

I must say I read this one twice, and both times I felt so warm, and full of hope for you...I have had those pieces of heaven, and thank God every day.

I think this is amazing, I really like this it's so soft, with that hint of dreams. Very well written and presented, beautifully presented.
Hold onto those dreams
