I have never been alone,
even when I thought it so.
For I have someone watching over me.

He knows my every care
and he guides me everywhere.
Though his guiding hands are sometimes hard to see.

He whispers words of love.
He comforts from above
and in my heart there is a peace so sweet.

Time seems to move so slow,
but in a few short days I know
I'll be holding his hand and kneeling at his feet.

So I labor on...in this work of love.
For there are many with the need of
a simple touch of grace.

In the streets of our home towns
there are lost souls all around.
Can't you see it etched across their face?

A kind act to one in need.
Giving the hungry a bite to eat.
"Do it to the least of these and you do it to me."

Lifting up those who've fallen down.
Stepping out from amidst the crowd.
Dare to be a light for the darkened world to see.

One day I'll stand before the throne
and hold the keys to my new home.
I'll see a smile that is brighter than the sun.

Then we'll walk upon the shore
and there will be peace forevermore.
My struggles on this earth will then be done.

But until then...I labor on.

Tennessee Angel,
I like this.
