She drifts like the water
In her old blue dress
She ripples on the shores
Of her own distress

She feels with a thousand
pounds of empathy
She deals with much more than
Simple sympathy

Her eyes elegantly
gaze across the room
Soft whites and blues
See more than you assume

Her last escape from all
All that those eyes see
She doesn't touch the floor
Away from pain and misery

She sways just overhead
Where the paint is peeling
One last blue tear
Floats down from the ceiling
