Who's There

Disintegrating into the shore
And the wind is never seen anymore
Waves tell you it's coming
Branches sing by humming

Tubes start by haunting
And mimic a wolfs howling
Slamming shutters peak your attention
But the sounds of voices you won't mention

The wind knows you're alone
Slipping through doors by a moan
You are aware
"Who's there?"

You ask the question in fear
An answer you don't want to hear
Convinced it's the wind
But still your heart races within

You start to talk to yourself
While returning the book to the shelf
"Did I lock the door?"
Overwhelmed of being unsure

You try to leave the room
Suction traps you like a tomb
But you remember the windows are closed
Now your breath is froze

You shake the door to death
"LET ME OUT OF HERE!!"with one breath
Suddenly the lights go out
And a stale smell about

You jump on the bed and lay stiff
A strange feeling you're starting to lift
The door opens and your heart begins to race
Shocked as you recognize your own face

"Who's There"…. is a take off from a poem
that I did in Open 7 called… "The Grim-Reaper"

______________________________
The Grim-Reaper

The Grim-Reaper walks these halls
Luring quitters with his calls
Unsuspecting arrivals with no choice
Smell the staleness of his voice

His castle becomes your home
Unaware that you're there to roam
Walking in limbo you catch a whiff
Enter a room to see yourself lying-in stiff

Wow, did you ever capture the feeling of being home alone at night, when things go bump.  I could feel the panic here. LOL

Been there more times than I'd like to remember. Excellent job!

SpitFire…Thank you SpitFire
Being home alone can be spooky when you just
sit and listen to all the little noises around you
especially when the wind travels through your
castle. Don't forget to look under the bed?

WhtDove…Thank you WhtDove
                    You're not alone!!
You have Passions to keep you company.

Yeah, well, I'm gonna be sure my wife answers  the door the rest of the month!  Me,
I'll guard the rear...be ready to run for help, and all that.

Really neatly done!  Liked it much!  Haven't even thought of Halloween being so close yet. Guess it's time, huh...don't want to be caught unaware...

jwesley…Or in your underwear!
Yea! Give your wife the cast iron frying pan for a weapon!
Then call your mother-in-law to come over. Oops!
I mean call your mother-in-law over then give your
                  wife the frying pan!! LOL
Glad you stopped in thanks for the laugh!
                  You better check the attic!
