We did a bit of a silly workshop this month - and got some very punny results...

How to Become a Famous Poet

Wanna be a classic poet?
Just sit down with pen and tablet.
Let your metric feet go walkin'
And your wingers do the flockin'
Through your trusty Dictionaurus.
Tell a story that won't bore us;
Toss some end-rhyme in absurdly
Using syntax that is wordly.
Ev'ry single one can do it
It's no big deal - get write to it.
Then a little luck quill do ya
And don't let those critics fool ya..
Like great poets who precede us
We'll be gone before we're famous.

Head on over to Nan’s workshop
And your poetry just perks up
All you do is write with rhythm
That’s your poetry baptism

Make sure it’s in proper meter
But don’t try to ever beat her
She’s big on pentameters
And gives you the perameters

Nan writes out the definition
Now you’re on a poet’s mission
Use your rhyming dictionary
Pick the extraordinary

And before you even know it
You’ve become a famous poet

A live one

Liz

I yearn to be a poet,
I hope that I don't blow it,
I'm not a European,
Nor onomatopoeian,
Iambic not a pronoun,
My odes by few are noun,
I try and make my end words rhyme,
I sprinkle them with metered thyme,
I yearn to be a poet,
If I just knew how to show it.

PdV - Thanks for stopping by... Did someone forget to shut the door?  I told Toe and Deer they had to do their sparring outside..

Alwye - Don't ever say I didn't give you any good advice, OK???..

Mike - Methinks you are a poet - You need not try to show it - You just are what you are...

Wil - Thankeeeeee.....

Martie - Actually, if you really wanna know the truth (no - please lie to me)... I'm actually Finnish...

Mark - Maybe we could trick 'em... We could all leave... Go to a private town somewhere and fake our deaths - then watch ourselves become famous????.... hm....

OK, packing bags for the town yet to be named...just to see if in our absences, whether we'll be missed, and/or become famous, whichever comes first...

Nan~
Well, you had me - till you lost me.

To be famous,
I might like it -
It could be really nice ...
But now that I think about it
I'm not willing to pay the price ! !

Phunny thing about being phamous ...
I'd want to be around to know it !

Thanks for the mood-lifter !

Tonight on The Library Spotlight, we have NANNERS and this wunnerfully silly lil poem. Just listen to the experts, folks!

Don't gain my affections then cover my eyes. Don't sweep me off my feet then fail to catch me before I hit the floor.
