--- If I See You Everyday ---
~
If I see you every day forever
I will always recall that night.
I will recall how despite her best
Efforts, nature could not distract me from you.
~
Despite the sparkle of night lights
That the tiny waves threw at me,
My eyes could not leave the sparkle of yours.
My mind could not leave you.
~
Beneath the mournful beauty of the
Rhapsodies of the circling terns,
My ears could not release the rhythm
Of your soft breathing.
~
Shrouded in the cool comforting
Breeze that the lake blew upon us,
Your embrace was all I felt
Your hair was all I smelled.
~
You won that night.
Pitted against all the beauty that
Nature could bring to bear
At that time, in that place.
~
If I see you every day forever
I will always recall that night.

Some men see things as they are and ask "WHY ?" I see things as they could be and ask "WHY NOT ?"

So nice to get lost in those special moments isn't it?  Loved the flow in this as well and the cadence....went with the message superbly.

Thank You Mark & Paula ..... I wonder if any of you can pick out the book that provided the inspiration for that poem. It was inspired by a line from a book. I mention this for two reasons:

1) I think you'd all be shocked at the character who uttered the line.

2) When I take anything from another work, even a single line (as is the case here) I always cite the source.

GUESSES anyone ??

In Thomas Harris' sequel to "The Sinece Of The Lambs" titled "Hannibal", Dr. Hannibal Lecter utters the words "If I see you everyday forever, I will never forget how you look tonight" to Clarice Starling. I thought regardless of the source, what a wonderful thing to feel. It took me back to one night with one person, so I wrote.

It was nice to hear something nice on one of my few ventures out of my normal style. Thanks for the encouragement now I'm off to read some of your works.

Marge, Charisma ..... thanks for the encouragement. If, I'm not Lonely Char, then someone must be tiptoeing around right behind me. Because I see no one. Well, maybe one day. (hummmmm) that gives me an idea.
