Listening to every heart

The Reflections

Inner and outer
there are two
one is for me
one is for you

time to pick up that mirror again
look to tomorrow, think back on when
reflect on future’s reactions
see if there’s a past connection

what do I see, looking at me
beyond eyebrows and lashes and freckles
past green orbs of wrinkled, lined eyes
see past the laughter, past the spectacles

am I going to be then so surprised?

This special mirror looks into the heart
for all of the good I do, it stays torn apart
always deciding between right and wrong
sometimes needing a quick kick-start

all of the hopes and dreams are still there
even with mileage, no need of repair
wisdom, however, has laid wider tracks
and naïveté, it’s been set a bit back

so why then can I still be surprised?

Inner and outer
there are two
one is for me
one is for you.

You gotta release those hidden feelings somewhere and if poetry be it for now then we will all listen.  Hope it helps to write it out some.  Superb penning as I could feel your struggle.

I enjoyed the ponderings of this one---

"reflect on future'e reactions
see if there's a past connection..."

spoke to me, ya did.  Thanks so much.
