Why do I sit here
With no sleep tonight
The table is bare
I’m pulling my hair
Why do I write

True it's been said
I write with my head
But then there’s the time
I give it a shot
With words and a rhyme

Why do I sit here
Am I so selfless and true
I could be sleeping and dreaming
Of no other but you

Why do I sit here
Why do I write...

There’s a page and a pen
'neath my pinochio nose
My rib cage I'm quite thin
It predominatly shows
Why am I hurting
I don’t eat when I write
And evidently there’s proof
There’ll be
No sleep tonight

A poem is artwork
Framed on a page
I said, “Captain Kirk, your poems are bitter
I can feel your rage.
He said I was dreaming
And then he was beaming
So I woke to the table and the hard-back old chair
Where my page is erect and so thoughtfully bare

I like french poodles I have one he smells
He’s dirty
He’s rude
Did I not say he’s a french poodle
Listen next time
So I draw on my page little french doggie doodles
They don’t really rhyme

My poetry is stick figgers at least doodling so far
Say, one with bum leg watch out for that car

I think of sweet lady
She can always inspire
I add mini-skirts
To stick peoples attire

Why do I sit here
Why do I write
I hope that you see
To please all of Thee
Is my
Sincerest delight

WOW
Look what I’ve done
I think that I've wrote
To add modestly
The mentioned above
Is yours for a quote

(this was fun patooey)

I'm not going to ask you why, but just tell you that I enjoy what you write, as I did this!!

Why do I sit here tonight
and read Walt's latest word
because he makes me laugh
with poetry absurd!

Walt I think it's sweet that your wife inspires you. And the thought of drawing stick figures, and then thinking of her and adding lil skirts on them, is soooooo sweet!

A bit of humor, a bit of seriousness as well.
Gotta love a walt-a-roo poem!

All right so... I'm not real clear on this "Why" and "here" thing. Your name is "WayOut" isn't it..? So why are you here..?

ROFL ... Lovin' your style and wit, Walt! I purposely didn't read this till my last poem tonight ... just because I knew I'd head off with a smile!

Best wishes,
/Kit
