Keep gentle thoughts,
evermore,
lest misfortune,
finds your door.

Keep loving thoughts,
in your heart,
when those in envy,
take you apart.

Keep thoughts of hope,
burning bright,
to guide your way,
Through a foggy night.

Hold steady thoughts,
when the river does turn,
when the waters of peace,
begin to churn.

Hold dreamer’s thoughts,
to your breast tight,
when reality pulls,
with fierce might.

Be empowered by hope,
and all things true,
let no doubt, or fear
poison you.

Keep your mission clear,
keep your path in sight,
let your addiction be freedom,
let truth be your light.

May your voice be strong,
but your words always kind,
And may the ends
you so seek,
be not too hard to find.

May your promise made today,
be held through the new morrow.
May your life know but joy
and stay turned from all sorrow.

And may you know from this moment
till the last,
till the end,
that in me you have found
one eternal friend.

Sounds like an IRISH pledge....I am Irish and this would fit right in with the country settings of Ireland and all the well wishes you receive up there.  Excellent verse from you.

i wish i could print this out and send it to my closest friend...claiming it to be my own.

a piece that will never fade.  inspirational enough to hang above my bed so that it's the first thing i see every morning.

Mark, my thanks..again! I sent it to a friend of mine in Ireland, and he did agree with your comment. I hadn't thought of it in that light before.
Serenty and Weaubleau, thank you for your comments, too, as well as taking the time to read it over. I do appreciate it!
