In Candlelight

Sun to light the golden shore
Moon, the silver sea
Stars to twinkle galaxies
Of love on you and me

Lanterns shed a misty glow
Hearth a warming flame
Candle sparkles in your eyes
And whispers out your name

If I could somehow capture
All the light that they impart
It wouldn’t match the radiance
Of love within my heart

So let the darkness fall upon us
Let the love light shine
And I will light the fires
Of the passion that is mine

The galaxies are incidental
Let the starlight be
And moon will still glow softly
On the crests of silver sea

Let a single candle wick
Burn into the night
And you and I will warmly bathe
In halos of it’s light

The flickering flame will softly glow
Upon your silken skin
And light the beauty of the love
That’s waiting there within

Sun to light the golden shore.
Moon, the silver sea
Candle’s flame to light our love
In waves of ecstasy

Elizabeth~
The flickering candle and the celestial lights -
what breathtaking comparisons of the glow of love.

Wonderfully done, dear lady.

Terry, Cerenity, Rosepetals, and Marge
Now what are we all doing up so late?
I'm heading for bed, how about you, as soon as Terry finds the matches.
Thank you all for your midnight comments
See you in the morning
Love
Liz

"It's just a poem" does not apply to anything you write, Liz. The English language is transformed into a magical instrument when in your hands and the true illumination comes from the beauty of your verse....I like your poetry, by the way

Balladeer,
What an incredible response. But it seems to me, this could have been in reverse
(I like your poetry, too)
Thank you, my dear friend
