Where once was a hook
through belly of one cricket
now is hole of love

A fish took the hook
chewed it not harming cricket
then set cricket free

Cricket was happy
Fish felt the friendship blossom
now they play all day

In sun they abound
as rock offers the setting
between land and sea

Upon back of fish
cricket shall have joyous ride
protected from man

Charming Haiku Story...who'da thunk the cowboy had it in him to know that in some lands, a cricket is most revered...

Mark this is amazingly fantastic, now aren't you just too good, seems there's no stopping you! You meet all the challanges brilliantly. While I'm still trying to work out what it is, you've met it, and capped it. Ahh my friend I wonder if anyone dare challenge you, wouldn't it save time if I just laid the laurels at your feet. No because then I'd miss your so beautiful words, and I couldn't deny myself that pleasure.
Magnificent,
                Take care

rosepetals25-Thanks it has been fun.  Great responses from you BTW

Marge and Karilea-You both need to find "the worm and the tadpole" and "the termite and the snail" to catch up....they are both by rosepetals25 from a challenge I left her on one of her poems.  Have fun with them.

Mark, it's a treat to watch you take challenges, for you not only meet them, but exceed them so exceptionally well. What a wonderful Haiku story ... such a sweetly heart-warming friendship you developed here, full of imagery. Very nicely done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Mark this is good,
you and rosepetals could start a trend - storytelling in Haiku. It could be a viable proposition if you didn't go mad first. Imagine living the rest of your life being only able to haikuspeak. Scary.

Hi Mark,

This is so cute and what a wonderful way to show how different spiecies can grow in to quiet loving friends.
