ALl HaLloWs DaY dElIgHtS

A tale of terror I tell tonight
Under the glow of full moonlight
Beware of what the shadows hold
Lest you think you're very bold

But remember, I told you so,
If you end up down below.
Watch close, all about, this eve
Some is real, some make-believe

Witches, goblins, ghosts and more,
Demons, devils, ghouls galore
Vampires, bats, and famished rats,
And don't forget those evil black cats.

Cauldrons, spells and eye of newt
Door to door they come in suit
Beware the wolf, beware the beast
Beware the hunger, they're after feast

Upon you, wishes they, would dine
They want yours now, to make you thine
Into your soul, they creepy crawl
Along the way, they've scavenged all

Your blood they drink, your veins they string
To tie loose ends on sacks they bring
They've filled them up, yes to the brink
When passing by the contents stink

Decaying skin, of rotting flesh
As they move on to reap more fresh
So if a knock on door you hear
On Hallows Eve, please don't go near

Beyond the masks in dark of night
The beasts, they wait, for you to fright
And wanting you, their taste delight.

Can't say I saw any creepy font, but the verse was great!

Hard to believe we're upon Halloween already!

Maureen,
you could never be scary,...but your poem was. Great write.

Maureen - I see you have a bit of the devilish in you after all.  Writing a ghoulish poem to get me all excited, teasing me with thoughts of horror, and then not mentioning a single kitty!  I like your poem, anyway.

I am sure I mentioned a black cat somewhere in there...

hey you, I am not only devilish at times but vixen-like too if the moment is right....I am made up of many  personalities...just the dull one is here of late...
~~softly thinking of who to be next
