Autumn is come here

The sun turns a cold shoulder

Summer is done here

The seasons move on!

a very simple verse...
or is there something between the lines? =)

very lovely sentiments. but if the sun turned its back, would we really call it a cold shoulder...

nice word play.

This was a very simple verse.
"The sun turns a cold shoulder."
  "Summer is done here"

It sounds like there is bad weather to come
Do we have anything to fear.

Simply terrific.

English Rose,
I liked the line about the sun turns cold shoulder, in fact I liked the whole concept of the world turning and the season's changing.
Be well

Well Ethan...I guess you would if it is meant in the way that a person may shun someone or...give them the cold shoulder...by turning their back and ignoring them.

I think it is called poetic lisence isn't it?

EnglishRose~

The lament of a friend
as the season gets colder
I wrap a quilt
around your shoulder

To shelter you
within the warmth
of friendship's reason
draped across this changing season

Knowing full-well
that come the spring
I'll share in the flowering,
showering will bring

*Thank you for this little burst of inspiration, my friend.
