Waiting

No light I see
all colors fade
the world remains
deep gray and jade
muffled sounds
feather soft
barely heard
rise like a fog
then vanish,
blurred.
No touch is felt
all senses supine
no love to languish
empty arms
are mine
no laughter cascading
waterfalls of glee
for you're gone,
and so is
my ecstacy.
time is long
and heavy
a weight upon
a wait
moments endured
just barely
in this void state.
Till you are back
breath is slow
heartbeat shallow
mind astir
till you are back
only drifting
empty, empty
endure.

You are so correct, Rosebud. The waiting is the hardest part. Thank you for reading!

Very well expressed.  I really like it because that is exactly what it feels like to lose love and wait for its return.  I especially like the physical look of the poem.  It's almost like breathing, and the beating of a heart.
