It should be me

Alarm clock rings, ending dreams
A new day has begun
What it brings, not what it seems
‘cause she’s still the one

You’ve been her man right from the start
She still has your name
She’s got your hand; I have your heart
but it’s not the same

In other’s eyes, she’s the prize
I’m the one who’s wrong
They can’t see our destiny
Together, we belong

With life she glows, though no one knows
the hurt that they can’t see
She grows with pride, I cry inside
Baby, it should be me

You'll have it all soon my friend. . . these things take time. . .

SEA, you have no idea.  At least, I hope you don't.  It hurts too much.

Sven, thank you, my friend.

Tara,
slow and steady wins the race, it doesn't help I know
but it gives you something to hold onto when there nowhere else to go
when you heart is healing, from the hurt and pain
it isn't seen as a balm, the sunshine after rain
but take it from me my friend, things work out for the best
and if it should have been you, then put it to the test
but while you're busy sorting, keep writing it all out
we're always here to listen, that's what passions is about.

Be well

Tara,

It is you in my heart; I know that doesn't make the present any easier to deal with, but you have to know that you are my future. I can only pray that after this is said and done that I have the rest of my life to prove that to you. Personal comments aside, you have written a very beautiful poem that shows so well the sadness and hurt that you are dealing with. Hold on, my muse; I love you.

Fellow readers,
My apologies for making a personal statement to Tara in this forum but a poem from the heart deserves a reply from the heart. If any of you out there are in love, no matter what the circumstances, HOLD ON to it with all that you have, because it's the single best feeling in the world to know that you have found the one person who is right for you. Don't give up.

Kethry, thank you for the poetic reply.  Keep writing it all out...great advice.

Jeff, nobody ever said it'd be easy, huh?
