Seven notes
sharp
flat
that's that

all there is to music really
as a whole
half
qaurter
note

however you slice it
the notes are all the same

you may search for the
undiscovered key
but all new songs
use the same notes
as the ones we played
yesterday

there is nothing new under the sun
was written
oh -- say
three thousand
five hundred years ago
or so

and since then
with the same stuff
that was just laying around
we put together
cars
airplanes
toasters
and the internet

yep

same stuff
just
different packages

and the bottom line:
we still just want
to curl up
with someone
at the end
of the day

toooooooo incredibly eerie ... *shaking head*... seriously... believe me when i tell you this... i woke up this morning and had all kinds of ideas in my head... my muse was on a rampage... i quickly grabbed a pen and wrote a few of them down... the ones i could remember... one of them was this:

"Ecclesiastes"

ok, so that was a poem i planned on writing today. this is too strange.... haven't talked to anybody about this... it's a note i wrote to myself and stuck in my pocket

hmmmmmmmm...... the only other thing i can say is this poem is awesome... and... i wouldn't change a line or word in it... LOL...

you da hawke! and your words fly straight up, straight out, and right into the world with truth ...

It's all in the way
The notes are put together
That gives unholy screeching
Or a sultry "Stormy Weather."
The same words are available
For anyone to use
The result - trash or treasure
Depends upon a muse
(Who may be on vacation)
So all these building blocks
May be scattered without reason
Or aligned so that it rocks!

This does, nephew... and as for the last verse... AMEN! *G*

a most excellent verse with a strange -but true- theme. does that mean we're all just pieced together monkeys, whose brains just got a little bigger?
i wonder why we lost the tails...

great poem and most inspiring-as well as intriguing.

"When you feel
like you've had it up to here
'cause you mad enough to scream
but you sad enough to tear...
that's Rock Bottom."

... but what I would not give to have all my notes in tune, plucked just so to provide an endless melody that sounds so sweet.  You present a wonderful truth... I bow to you and yours.  Peace!

Funny how those same notes can produce the greatest music ever heard or just a lot of noise...it's all in the hands of the player. Yours are very capable, Hawkster..
