Smoke's rising from the chimney,
Jack frost has grabbed his brush,
Gotta batten down the hatches,
Before the winter's rush.
Another blanket on the bed,
Atop the flannel sheets,
Time for thermal long johns,
Along with manmade fleece.
This will be our wardrobe,
As the heating prices rise,
A winter fashion statement,
Uninviting to the eyes.
We'll sip a few hot toddy's
To remove the season's chills,
And it won't hurt to drink them
As we watch the Buffalo Bills!
Before too long the snow will fly,
As those wind chills factor in,
We'll need the dog for added warmth,
And big clumsy Bo will win!!!

Very nice ... but it's also depressing ... I don't really care for winter like I did as a child and I have a ton of work to do to get things in shape before the snow flies

Bonnie-
You've made me jealous with this one.
We don't get winters like this in Phoenix.
   Love this!

Flannel sheets are cool!!   This is delightful, Bonnie!! I love it!! ...oops, this just reminded me that I have to call the roofer...don't need anymore leaks from snow sitting on the roof for weeks. *making myself a note to call tomorrow* Thanks!

Flannel sheets and long johns! Can't go without em   (NO LJ, we're not talking about you!) LOL

Brrr, gave me the shivers it did Bonnie!
We had a beautiful day out today! Was outside in the yard working! Took it all in as I know it won't be much longer and I'll be shoveling my way out!

Hot chocolate, and a nice warm blanket, and have to have those socks or slippers too!

Love it Bonnie!

Becky - Heavy frost here last night, it was down to 26 degrees, just a preview of what's to come....definitely needed the long johns and heavy socks.
Lone Wolf - Boy was I glad to have that ol' dog!!!
Kit - Don't know what warmed me more, the flannel or the hot toddy!
Thank you all for reading, and your kind replies, they are so appreciated.  Bonnie

LOL Bonnie! It was probably both!  That's a chillin temp for sure! We haven't gotten that far down yet, but I have a feeling we're looking for a harsh winter!

I think I'll go enjoy this 70* day we have today!
